From the Wall Street Journal:
Does your weight affect where you choose to move? The answer is yes, according to a recent study.
While past research has found that a person is more likely to gain weight living among heavier residents, a team of researchers at the University of Utah wanted to see whether people move to neighborhoods because of their weight. Their research, published in the International Journal of Obesity, found that obese women in Salt Lake County, the state’s most populous and urban county, were three times as likely as healthy-weight women to move from the leanest to the heaviest neighborhoods, defined as less walkable areas with a higher average body-mass index. They were 60% less likely to move to the leanest neighborhoods.
I think that the skinny should be
sent to the Amundsen Sea.
Or else we should tithe
their being so lithe,
and starve ’em on plain zucchini.
